ACA offers a concurrent enrollment program to students in the 9th through 12th grades. These courses are offered online through Arkansas State University Three Rivers (ASUTR) and students are given time on campus at ACA to complete their concurrent coursework. Students enrolled in these concurrent courses will receive both high school and college credit for each course passed through the program. For more information on ASUTR visit https://www.asutr.edu/
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the ACA Concurrent Enrollment Program, each student must meet the following requirements:
Successfully Complete the 8th Grade
Receive 3 Teacher Recommendations
Minimum GPA of 3.5
Receive Minimum Scores on ACT/Accuplacer - listed below.
Minimum Test Scores
Section ACT Accuplacer
Math 21 264
Reading 19 256
English/Writing 19 256
Upon completion of a concurrent course, students will receive both high school and college credit. For example, completion of Comp I and Comp II with a passing grade will also count as credit for 12th grade English. If a student drops the college course, he/she will receive a "W" on his/her ASUTR transcript. In this case, the student will have the opportunity to enroll in the equivalent high school course at ACA, in order to obtain a passing grade on his/her High School transcript.
**It is important to note that if a student does not pass the college course, he/she will not receive college or high school credit for that course.**
Cost
ASU Three Rivers offers students the ability to take courses at a 50% discount. The cost of ASUTR tuition is subject to change.
Parents are responsible for the cost of tuition, as well as books and related materials, for concurrent courses. These costs are not included in your ACA tuition. Payment will be made via bank draft by ACA, who will then make a single payment each semester to ASUTR for all students who are enrolled.
